A Wrinkle in Quality Time

My son loves flash cards. And puzzles. And other things that I would think a small boy would find lame. (He actually cheers when I ask him to help me with the laundry. I will remind him of this when he’s 10). Whether than question it, I’ve decided to just enjoy it while it lasts and fuel his zest for knowledge, and housekeeping, while he’s still got it.

I bought this educational game for Jed called Brain Quest from my favorite Asheville toy store.

molly the mouse

It’s a question and answer game featuring a character called Molly the mouse. Jed LOVES this. He will sit there and beg me for “more Molly.” I fire  questions at him, a lot of which center around teaching children about everyday items and their uses: a hairdryer, a cell phone, a computer, etc. He gets almost all of them right. But when we got to the picture of an iron, he just stared at it blankly. “What’s that, Mommy?”

And that pretty much sums up my domestic prowess. Oh the shame.
